Coffee Cupping Seminar Series; This series of 4 seminars occurring over four Saturdays will begin January 22nd and end on February 12th.
Where it is: Mudpuppy Cafe, 4219 North Figueroa Street, Highland Park, CA 90065.
Each seminar will include coffee cupping - the wine tasting of the professional coffee world and a talk about coffee. We will grind, sniff, taste, test and compare 2 coffees each week.

One Cup Connection launched the contest on January 24th to celebrate Valentines Day 2012. Participants were required to submit their original photo depicting their love for coffee. All entries were posted on One Cups Facebook page, and the winner was selected by popular vote. Sara Sianos entry won by a landslide, garnering 49% of the total number of votes cast. Subjects covered during this short series will be:
Seminar 1- Cupping: how the pro's find the right coffees for you.
Seminar 2- Taste comparison and the words that are used to share this secret handshake shared by coffee farmers, coffee importers, brokers and roasters.
Seminar 3- A short history of the coffee bean, the regions coffee is typically grown in, and why some coffees taste better than others.
Seminar 4- Coffee Roasting Methods and Coffee Blending Styles. At the end of this session you'll know more than what a "French Roast" really is.
